Saltwater Fish Aquarium Care

Do you want Flounder and Ariel’s friends have a nice stay at your home aquarium?  Is diving not very accessible for you and you want a miniature version of the ocean at your home? Or you just simply love the leisure of doing  saltwater fish aquarium care but you are drowning with questions on how and what to do about it? Here are some saltwater fish aquarium care do’s and don’ts to help you make the habitat of your pet fishes a smooth-sailing one. 

DO think about their future. In starting this hobby, part of a saltwater fish aquarium care is to think about the growth of the fishes. This will be determined by the size of tank you have and how many fish you have in the tank. Unlike in a freshwater tank where you can look at the water and if it look cloudy you need to do something in saltwater you don’t get that lucky. The saltwater fish can not take a major swing in their water. You have to make sure when it is time to do a water change you already have the water made up to the right salinity and the temperature is right with the tank.

Don’t forget to buy the proper accessories such as live rock  and the filtration system for your pet’s new aquarium home. A good quality tank, a proper sized aquarium in proportion to the number of fish you are going to take care, sufficient number of fish food and good quality sand are the basic things you must consider as part of your saltwater fish aquarium care.

Don’t forget to feed your fish but not too much. For a proper saltwater fish aquarium care, make sure you know theMix of Saltwater Fish types of fish and there eating habbits. Some but not all eat 2-3 times a day of a small amount of fish food. Some in this hobby will only feed once a day while others say they only feed every other day. Always be careful not to spoil them with eating. Be aware if they are already full. Don’t forget to consult books or the internet. Research is very important for more tips on how to take care of these living creatures. Experiences from other hobbyists are also great sources for getting practical tips on saltwater fish aquarium care.  Join clubs or forums. Talk to people with the same interest as yours. Or make a blog with your own stories. You never know, people reading it might have similar situations and you could exchange views and tips.  Experience still is the best teacher.
And finally, do enjoy your hobby. Treat these creatures like family. Love them and take care of them passionately. From the many fishes from the ocean your pets at home are the chosen ones.  Make their stay at their new world a proper and meaningful one. Don’t forget that these are creatures that we should take care of as part of our responsibility to mother earth, including her saltwaters.
